This August, as I gear up for a busy fall with my fellow company members, there is another set of responsibilities which I’ve added to my already full plate.
Aside from being a co-maid-of-honour in my beautiful sister’s February cirque wedding (yes, cirque wedding – more on that in future posts), along with co-directing our aerial dance cirque company, I have been tasked to help orchestrate the up-coming meetings and events for the International Special Events Society Toronto Chapter.
It has been a privilege and an honour to volunteer in the past for ISES Toronto board duties. This year I am officially named “VP of Programs” – quite the challenging role as I have big shoes to fill from past VPs who have developed extraordinary events for our members.
It’s helps too, that I have a dedicated team of fellow board members to work with, including crackerjack President Julie Brunjes from Stardust Events and phenomenal ISES veterans like Larry Cuthbertson of Cuthbertson Entertainment and Events to name a few.
I am also very excited about developing relationships with fellow ISES board members in Calgary and Vancouver. There is some wonderful comradery that exists within the association community which I look forward to exploring and strengthening.
Some of the highlights that we’ve lined up for the 2010-2011 programming season include key note presentations from some of the most successful event professionals in the industry today.
Our upcoming events include:
Speakers such as superstar event planner and author Andrea Michaels, team building expert Scott Kress, wedding planner extraordinaire Sasha Souza and entertainment dynamo Michael Cerbelli just to scratch the surface.
Check back here for the latest ISES Toronto events and I look forward to potentially seeing you out at one of our meetings.
