The problem with routine is just that – it’s a routine!
The old saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” is true in some situations and in certain circumstances.
There are many benefits to having a routine, or a personal list of goals (similar to the list you had last year), or a process which you utilize in your line of business.
But not always.
The problem with regularity, predictability, and routine is that we run the risk of becoming too comfortable.
It’s important to remember that sometimes we need to be uncomfortable in order to make progress.
Usually, if not always, progress hides in discomfort.
I think it’s time to do some squirming, time to feel uneasy, and time to suck it up.
