Each year, the meetings and events community comes together in the heart of Toronto to take part in the annual trade show – Incentive Works.

For the last three years running, my partner Elisa and I have attended, participated, and connected with fellow event professionals. As always, it’s great to walk the trade show aisles to see old friends and be introduced to new faces. Certainly, I believe that this show is a must-attend for those of us in the Canadian events industry as the benefits are many.
A highlight for Elisa and I this year was the keynote presentation given on August 17th by author Simon Sinek sponsored by Speakers’ Spotlight. I had the benefit of reading Sinek’s book prior to our attending IW (which I highly recommend btw).
Rather than sum up Sinek’s presentation in this post, I’ve located the TED video which went viral, and thus, catapulted Sinek’s speaking career. He is profoundly effective, and had the entire auditorium at IW at the edge of their seats.
