“Do not follow where the path leads. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” -Anonymous
Making your own way is scary – that’s a fact.
Why is this the case?
The road “less traveled” can sometimes seem to be a daunting and intimidating prospect.
I suppose we all have to struggle to face a barren landscape compared to the smoothly paved roads set out for friends, family, and colleagues who choose to play it safe.
It’s tempting to follow them…Very tempting indeed.
However, there are rewards for those who take risks. For those people who choose not to act like robots just going through the motions.
Rewards such as joy and satisfaction and sometimes money.
Risk taking can mean different things to different people. For example, going out of your way to help a customer, presenting an out-of-the-box idea to your boss (even if it might flop), starting your own business in a field that you love (even if everyone else is advising you against it).
I say – take risks, be brave, and most importantly, create your own trail!
What do you say?
